CJ Connoy

Founder & Director, One Day Games. 32 years across Sony PlayStation, Treyarch, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

CJ spent over a decade at Treyarch on the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise (Black Ops 1 through 4).

He was Founding Senior Producer at Deviation Games, a Sony-backed studio building original AAA IP from zero, and Founding Senior Lead, Design at Sony first-party Dark Outlaw Games — where he started the co-op prototype that became the foundation of the studio's main AAA IP.

One Day Games is what CJ is doing now: a solo studio building faithful digital companions to physical games. The work is a translation problem more than a porting one — taking a finished physical game and authoring its digital companion without losing what made the original feel like itself.

Physical-game companions

The studio's core focus: taking a finished tabletop game and building its faithful digital companion — an interpretation, not a port, that stands beside the physical product without replacing it. First titles in development.

The production pipeline

ODG runs production checks that detect issues, make bounded repairs, validate the result, and ship or promote the fix — with an audit trail, and without CJ finding or directing the specific repair. Creative work is done by hand; upkeep and recovery are increasingly automated.

Recorded examples:

  • A scheduled audit caught pipeline drift, patched it, validated with a dry-run, and pushed to main on its own. (May 2026)
  • The live Tic-Tac-Toe build had an issue detected, repaired, shipped, and verified green — without CJ directing the fix. (April 2026)
